Camp Dodge to host 2013 summer concert series

The 2013 Summer Concert Series at Camp Dodge in Johnston will feature five concerts on Thursdays from May 30 to June 27. The concerts, which start at 7 p.m., are free and open to the public. Iowa bands performing this summer include The Tony Valdez Large Band (May 30), Richie Lee and the Fabulous 50’s (June 6), The Nadas (June 13), The Electric Koolaid Trio (June 20), and The El Dorados (June 27).

The final days of the 2013 session brought great news for Iowans who want to do more for their families, and for Iowa businesses in need of skilled employees.

Thanks to the largest investment ever in our community colleges, Iowans will get the chance to improve their skills, qualify for better jobs and fill openings at local businesses. A pilot project has shown this approach works. That’s why we’re investing more than $34 million to take it statewide.
